We carried on from there along the highway stopping at Glen Ullin to check out the campsite, but as there was a reunion going on it was a bit noisy, so we made dinner and then moved on to Richardton where we found a nice spot to watch the sunset (at 9.45pm we think as we may have gained an hour) and free camp for the night.
Woke up at what we believed was 8.15am but in fact as we'd crossed back into mountain
time we had gained an hour which made it 7.15am. After breakfast we did a little half mile walk down to a nearby pond, which was all very nice until we got back and found that our legs were covered in ticks. We then spent an hour or so checking and removing said ticks from our clothing and ourselves and sweeping out the van to make sure that there were no more. Oh the joy of the great outdoors! When that nightmare was over we headed off on the scenic route from Gladstone following the Enchanted Highway, which has a few miles apart several steel works of art ranging from flying geese, fish, grasshoppers, pheasants and a tin family finishing off in Regent with the Wirly Gigs. We then drove to New England and then turned back up to the main highway at Dickinson.
