Anywho....mass was BEAUTIFUL. there was a full choir and orchastra in the choir loft, and they sang one of mozart's mass's for the mass parts. i didn't quite catch which one, because the mass was all in German....but seriously...the Agnus Dei made me cry. it was...AWESOME. in every sense of the word. I mean, i used to sing these masses at Memorial...but to hear it in the context it was written for, in the full meaning of the mass....what an opportunity. and the thing is...it seemed quite normal for them. of course, we were in Salzburg, home of mozart.
After mass, we had lunch and headed back to the buses, and on the way, ran into a street musician playing electric violin..and it was *angels singing* AHHHHHHHHHHH. so good. he played ave maria for us, and the acoustics....man, nothing like it.
On the way back to Gaming, we stopped in Mondsee, another site of the Sound of Music, the Church they were married in, the trees the kids played in, and the lake. alll very beautiful. The Church is actually a basilica, 5 saints are exposed in the altar..........but we don't know who...tried to look it up on google here, but whatda you know? even google is German! i'll have to find a page translator. The Church was quite beautiful, and i would have liked to spend more time at the lake but it was SUPER cold, and we only had 45 minutes to explore.
We got back on the bus, and headed back to Gaming, in time for dinner...and then...bed time!!
Next weekend is our first free weekend. we'll either stay here and go skiing at the Resort up the road, or Prague.....choices choices...lol
Guten Tag!! (Good bye!!)
