On my last day in Goa I got an email from Travelbag to say that my flight times had changed- this meant that I wouldn't be able to travel to the airport with Marte and Stine as we had planned. It was a shame, especially as complications with the airline meant that I had to spend a stressful day in and out of internet cafes trying to finalise everything. As my original flight had been cancelled I now had to go from Goa to Bangalore, Bangalore to Chennai and then finally Chennai to Colombo. The really bugger was that I had to collect my bag each time. As i arrived in Bangalore I was "intercepted" when leaving the plane and was marched down to the Air India booking desk where they told me that I would have to pay INR10,000 for the extra flight (which I didn't want to have to take in the first place). Well, I was fuming and somewhat suspicious when, after I refused to pay they reduced the amount that they were demanding by half. I think Dad would be proud that I didn't "take any crap" and eventually they gave up. The bloody cheek of it. I'm convinced it was a scam. Not what you want when you haven't slept and know you are only one third of the way through a journey from hell!

The rest of the day was spent repeating the check in, security, dosing in departure lounges and boarding and leaving planes cycle repeatedly. A DULL day to say the least but when I got to the final flight, my patience was rewarded when I was upgraded to business class!!! I am not sure why, I looked an absolute scruff so I can only assume that the guy at the check in desk felt sorry for me! It was a great, but sadly very short journey. There was a monk two rows in front. Really wanted to take a picture but couldn't quite handle the embarrassment of being caught in the act! The views of the Indian coastline were amazing as we took off- the pictures don't do it justice but I took some anyway.

On arrival at Colombo I grabbed a taxi to Negombo. The hotel that Triney had booked was really nice but I was so tired having been travetlling through the night I went straight to sleep zzzZZZZzzzzzz

The next day I lazed around the pool at the hotel waiting for Triney to arrive. My luck must have been in, because as I returned to my sunbed I realised that a bird had done a massive s*** where I would have been laying!! I know they say its lucky for a bird to poo on you, but I was happy to have avoided it! The German guy next to me was very amused by the situation as I wiped the sunbed down! Triney arrived late afternoon and we went to dinner and chatted about a load of rubbish. Why changed the habit of a lifetime eh?!
