Nha Trang's nothing special - a beach resort which isn't quite beautiful enough to recommend it for the scenery, although apparently it's a bit of a diving hotspot.
However, a lounger on the beach with my book was the perfect way to spend a day recovering from the bike ride while waiting for the night bus to Hoi An.
It was a little bit cloudy, so not too many people on the beach, but that meant I got hassled by every single vendor walking past, desperate to sell me anything: water; fruit; paintings; books; t-shirts; postcards; cigarettes; sweets; massages... one guy came back six times to try me with different things, to no avail. I did, however, succumb to a massage and some overpriced dragonfruit.
The little old couple running the guesthouse I was staying at were really lovely - two of the nicest people I've met so far. Unasked, they provided free fruit juice and coffee, tiger balm for my mosquito and ant bites, warnings about bag-snatchers on the beach and a packed tea to take with me on the night bus. I've been recommending the guesthouse to everyone going that way ever since!
