Where I stayed
That night we had a few beers at the hostel next to us. There was music playing on the stereo but it wasn´t good enough for cathal and he decided to do a bit of DJing :)) He was just about to play ¨horse outside¨ by the rubber bandits when the women came over and turned it off :(( would have been a laugh. We also learned about an argentine drink called matta. It is basically tea leaves in a cup and then you add hot water and drink it through a straw. It wasn´t bad but very strong
The next day we decided to get a couple of kayaks and kayak around the island. This was great as you could stop at any beach you wanted. The weather was amazing and the two of us got sunburnt that day. When we got back from kayaking we walked round the town and looked for a good place to eat. We deicded after walking around the town that ilha grande would be a great place to go for a honeymoon. So will bring my future wife here for ours : )) That night we went to the hostel next to us were there was live music playing and we partied into the early hours of the morning.
The next day after a bit of a lyin we decided to walk to the farside of the island to a beach called lopez mendez. It was a tough hike as it was mostly uphill. The view from the the top of the mountain was amazing as you can see from the pics. This was the one time we were glad of all jodies training because only for that we wouldn´t have made it : )) It took just over two hours to make it to the beach but it was well worth the wait. The water was the clearest i have ever seen and the sand was the whitest i have ever seen. After we went for a swim we justed lay on the beach and relaxed and enjoyed the scorching sun. When we eventually decided to go home we wanted to catch the boat back. So we had to walk for about ten minutes to the next beach to catch it. We were about two minutes from the beach when we heard the horn of the boat which meant it was leaving the dock. So we had sprint to make it which we did thank god because we didn´t fancy walking home. That night we just had a few beers and a BBQ at the hostel as we were leaving early in the morning for paraty!! Ilha grande has been the most relaxed place i have been in my life and i would love to go back there!!!
