And so eventually we edge our way around the gulf of Mexico and get to Dallas. Our late arrival means that we don't get much further than the hotel bar and a half pound burger...

Customs is a breeze, frankly it's harder to get into pair of jeans.

So time to spare in Dallas, unfortunately its raining and so we indulge ourselves in a day of retail therapy. Rich buys loads of clothes and a laptop whilst Cath shops in starbucks.

Next day and its a fine morning (to be sure). We head downtown to the Sixth Floor Museum, formally known as the Texas School Book Depository. Its a strange place, voyeuristic and yet still very touching. Looking down from THE window, the places where the shots hit JFK are marked on the road below with a white X. Could Oswald have made the shots? Hell yes, my opinion now... lone gunman... mums got curly hair and a mustache... no conspiracy. Honest, from the window, easy shot. The video footage is strange, looks like a film...

We have lunch in Joes Crab shack, famous for its crabs. The staff all wear great t.shirts, 'got crabs?', 'even nice girls get crabs' all with the Joes logo on the back. And they did do good crabs.

We finish off in the Texas Aquarium. Its a bit pants but penguin feeding time makes up for everything.

And so to California...
