An early start and the bus to Chichen Itza yields a surprise, the local spanish paper has a warning about the impending Hurricane Ernesto and that the alert level has been raised. We check online and sure enough, a hurricane may, or may not, hit Cozumel our destination in 72 hours. As we're going there primarily so Rich can spend 5 days diving, its a bit of a showstopper.

We get to Chichen Itza still pondering on what to do and discuss it whilst strolling around the ruins. Another fantastic sight, another amazing place.

We ring hinkhig in the UK for his advice, well mainly because Everton won, Spurs didn't (2-0 to the Everton) and Rich felt there was some payback to be had in that. His advice on Ernesto, flip a coin. Brilliant.

After spinning in ever decreasing circles around the problem heads (or snake eating eagle) wins and we decide to go to Dallas in the morning rather than the Caribbean.

And so we get lucky with our flights and bounce through Mexico City straight onto a plane for Dallas. Only due to bad weather we land in Houston for 3 hours. Go figure. By the time we land in Dallas, Ernesto has changed course and is heading for Florida. However, it has rained in Cancun since.
