We thought weŽd make the most of the long trip down to Malargue and organised a tour to see the Cave of the Witches - Caverna de las Brujas.  Our guide, the Tom Sellek look-alike, was the grandson of the guy who discovered the cave, and was really passionate about it - he even had his wedding there!

Unfortunately as is often the case with such over enthusiastic guides, they have next to zero knowledge of the cave itself, and can only point out pig like rock formations and stalagmites that look like boobs. Great!  It was quite fun though squeezing through all the small passageways, our first experience of caving.  But it was only a couple of hours, and for the money it could have been longer.

In the afternoon he took us to a small waterfall with some fossils around it.  But Dave got annoyed that they kept getting their geology wrong.

After a last quiet night in Malargue we made our way to San Rafael the next morning.

We hired out some rickety old bikes and cycled out to do some wine tasting.  The opening times for the wineries were really sporadic, so we headed straight for the most famous one, Bianchi, which makes wine and Champagne.  Because we spoke English, we got our own personal tour around the winery, which was really cool, and got to taste some yummy Champagne, and some expensive wine.  We also picked up a couple of bottles for later.  Feeling by now a bit tipsy on our way back we dropped in on one more winery, La Abeja, a small place, it wasn't the best, but we got free wine!
