We arrived in Cordoba after a very peacefull ride, the best sleep i´ve had yet!! The place (by day) looks like Woking, under invested by comparison to Buenos Aires, but it comes alive at night. It has fantastic colonial architechture, Jesuit Monastaries, Crypts, the people are friendly, its more laid back than BA and again the food, what can i say, we´re eating our way across Argentina. The only downfall is our hotel, the ´Garden Hotel', it stinks, literraly there is a terrible smell in the room, and it´s not Cats boots.
So we saw the city, its only a small place and headed early the next morning to Parque national de Condoritos. Awesome, at first it was cloudy and we didnt think we would see any condors as we made the 2 hour hike up to the nesting site.
Imagine our suprise when two juvenile Condors flew overhead and landed within three meters of us. Spectacular, we didnt get any up close views of the white tipped adults, but were able to see numerous juveniles launch themselves off the cliff and circle overhead.
We also got great views of two other types of eagle.
It wasnt too sunny, but despite suntan lotion we managed to get completely burnt to a crisp, no more sun!!
After one more night in our dirty, smelly, noisy hotel (supposedly three stars) we caught the bus to Mina Clavero, where inspite of the gorgeous weather and tempting warm springs, we will be nursing our sun burns in the shade.
