Now in hanoi, arrived about 2 days ago on a hell mission bus trip from hue. Hue itself was fine and dandy, met a new traveling companion named Jenny and we're going to Halong bay together tomorrow. the guesthouse we're in (or hostel to be precise) organises trips for $52 for 3 days, but we've got it for $28, which is great. it's a budgo trip, but with 45 people i'm sure we'll have fun. i've met some great chicks here who are teaching english, so i'm planning NOT to go to Saigon in the end, but to stay in Hanoi.. It's really great so far, nice buildings and funky style. great shopping etc etc etc. and beer hoi is 1500dong (10cents)hmmm. the Hanoi Backpackers Hostel is pretty funky, run by an Australian and filled with travelers, great stuff. anyway, i'm in a bit of a crisis mode with money at the mo- trying to really pull in all the purse strings.. Aaagh!!luckily internet is free at this place!
