I woke up at 11am. I've been sleeping so much on this trip and I don't know why! But when I did finally make it out of my bed, I went outside to sit with Kim and Fleur, our host. We talked about our plans for the Great Barrier Reef as well as other places to visit along the way. She ended up advising us to go to this sanctuary in Bundaberg (where we're staying when we go to the Great Barrier Reef) where we can watch turtle hatching! We immediately made plans to go there on our road trip. We also were able to spot a koala in the trees near her home! Dan actually climbed up on the roof covering their patio to get photos of the female koala for us!

Around low tide, we took a walk up to Wellington Point (the actual point in the town - about 3.5km from our homestay) and saw the calm beaches. A huge sand bar that spans from the Point to a small island called King's Island appears during low tide. So we decided to walk it and see if we could get some cool photos and seashells to bring home. And of course, we did!

We journeyed on back to our flat and made dinner. Tonight's menu included chicken, pasta, salad, garlic bread and some more wine. We just watched Djokovic make it to the semi-finals, and we are very happy! Tomorrow we pick up our car and head to Bundaberg and a few stops along the way.
