Well, after our roommate left around 5am this morning.. We didn't get out of bed until about 11 (whoops). So we quickly got ready and headed to the bus station so we could head east towards Bondi Beach. It was an absolutely beautiful beach, but definitely many, many tourists and "shoobies" made their way to this area. It was pretty crowded but it didn't matter just because of the sheer beauty of the beach/water/surrounding area. We stayed for a couple hours before heading back to our hostel for dinner and getting ready to go out.

Our dinner for the night was provided by the hostel - a pork sausage, a side of kangaroo meat, coleslaw, and salad. It was pretty good; but the best part was that the dinner was held on top of our building, with views of the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. We stayed up there for a while before heading back down to our room.

Our roommate for the night was in the room when we returned, her name was Anna and she had just flown into Sydney as a stopover before heading to New Zealand for a few months to work. Her flight out of Sydney was leaving around 7am, and she needed to leave the hostel around 4am, so she decided to go out with us so that she could stay up. We took a taxi over to a place called World Bar - a bar where we were told was really good on Thursday nights - and it was awesome. They offered all of their drinks out of tea pots, so they were more like shots as opposed to mixed drinks. As soon as we got seated on a couch, a group of 4 marines from the US came over and hung out with us for a while. They were nice - but only one of them was really talkative so we ended up moving a different part of the lounge where it was quieter, and little bit cooler.

The four of us were sitting at a high table and was just talking when we were approached by 3 guys willing to share their drinks and some conversation. We found out that they were the U21 New Zealand Cricket Team! They were touring New South Wales and were celebrating their last night in Sydney. More and more of them came over to our tables and we had some funny conversations and even headed to the "d-flo" with them to see if they would perform the Hakka ritual dance. Even though they didn't do it for us, we still had a good time with them. We ended up leaving around 3:30am, just in time for Anna to catch her train for the airport. We're heading to a concert called Big Day Out tomorrow at Olympic Park!
