We decided late last night to go on a day tour through a Sydney service to the Blue Mountains and the Jenolan Caves. We boarded at 8am (ouch) and drove up on a tour bus to a place call Scenic World. It is where we were able to take a walk through the rain forest and get picturesque views of the three sisters - a natural formation of rock at the summit of one of the Blue Mountains. They're called blue mountains because from far away the mountains have a blue haze but as you get closer you can see that it's really just the trees lining the hill. This deception is caused by the way the sunlight hits the mountains. It was beautiful and very cool at the same time!

Next on our trip was traveling 4,000 feet up on one of the Blue Mountains to explore the Jenolan caves in the Kanangra Boyd National Park. These caves are more than 430 million years old, and we had a guided tour of the Lucas Cave. The tour lasted about 90 minutes, and I took some awesome pictures!

Once we returned to the hostel, we grabbed pasta and a jar of sauce (typical broke college kid nonsense), made some dinner, and got ready to go out. We ended up hopping on one of the hostel buses to take us over to a bar called Scubar - known for they're backpacker guests, "cheap" drinks, and their Monday night Hermit Crab Races! On the way over, our bus driver, Sam offered us $30 off of a winery tour he runs on Wednesdays - so I think that's in the plan for later this week. Anyways, when we got to Scubar it was pretty bare, but we had heard that it got really crowded later in the night - and they were not lying! It was so crowded by midnight that it was really hard to move around. We still ended up meeting some local Sydney guys that we talked and danced with for a while, but at around 2:30am it was time to get the heck out of there! After taking a taxi back, we decided that we would go to the Aquarium tomorrow, and then go to the Opera bar and Opera house to see an Opera! I am very excited!!
