Next, we went to the Royal Botanical Gardens where we could see numerous plants that are indigenous to the land and were very beautiful. Between palm and eucalyptus trees, we felt like we were in our own paradise. Since the weather was so nice in comparison to yesterday, we took the time to sit on the banks of the ponds and small lakes and enjoy the wildlife and the view. We even got to witness a wedding reception! It was so quaint and unique - we loved it.
To end our day in the city, we took the tram back up to the main street, Bourke, in central Melbourne to grab a bite to eat. Kim had shown us as we were walking earlier in the day soup dumplings that a chinese restaurant was selling. Neither me or Sara had ever heard of this Chinese item before, so we decided to go back to the place where we first saw them. We got an order of vegetable dumplings, crab & pork dumplings, Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, and seafood fried rice. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS, and I definitely plan on eating that type of meal again.
Once we were done eating we headed back to the hostel and now we're getting ready to go out. Hopefully we make it out this time as well are ready to make some friends!
