A few phone calls from my advertisement on Gumtree but nothing concrete. We shall organise another open house tomorrow.
We went to the bank only to find that my credit card was not setup correctly. We would have landed in Argentina and I would have had no access to cash. Crikey, that was a timely find. Should be ok now.
We were up until midnight frantically packing what we could into boxes for storage under the house. Earlier Christie did some last minute laundry including the rucksacks to try and rid them of the pungent river smell that remains after our recent flood soaked them. Its 11-30pm, we need to leave at 5-15am and I am to packing for the third time. With Jody and Niamh's school books, some essential cables, camera, notebook and medical kit I was wondering if I will get any clothes in at all. One rucksack each that was the rule no exceptions, what fool set that rule, oops.
Still no definite offers to rent our house, this could be bad. With no rent coming in while we are away I will have to reconsider travel arrangements, we will have to hire bicycles and a tent, and that reminds me, I still haven’t rebooked that flight from Orlando to Cancun (shhhh, surprise for Jody and Niamh), and Havana to Caracas. At last we have found a kind soul to take care of the cats so there is no need for that bag and the rocks after all. Christie has emptied Coles shelves of cat food.
Still loads of left shelves unpacked, and there is an open house at 9-30 for prospective tenants. Alex and his friend Toby will have to finish off after they drop us off at the airport. Tomorrow is a big day for Alex as he is moving out into his own place for the very first time. Quite a day ahead for him. I need sleep, we all do.
