Rothenburg is a very cute little medieval German village.  The village is enclosed in a large stone wall and all the buildings inside the wall haven't changed, meaning there are no modern buildings to be seen.  It would be great to spend Christmas here, to see it all decorated and covered in snow.  It is pretty touristy, mostly Americans and Asians walking around in awe of the incredible buildings, but still worth the visit.
