Hi, there.

This posting is going to be short.  I'm coming down with something and am running a fever and developing a very sore throat.  The air pollution in Beijing doesn't help, but what can I do?  I have to be here until the course is over!

One minor problem with the course, though.  The schedule was not available until we arrived, and the last day of class is July 19, instead of July 23, which was emailed to me more than a month ago.  I booked my flight according to that email!  I could have gone home earlier if they had sent me the schedule ahead of time.  I'm learning how the Chinese do things as we go...

The hotel we're staying is only slightly better than the one we stayed in Suzhou, but I guess I can tolerate it since it has an AC unit in the room!

Getting the return flight changed will incur penalty.  I'm going to see what I should do.

On another note, the course started today, and the first presentation by the Dean of the College of Chinese Language and Culture was extremely well prepared.  Dr. Zhang reminds me of Jeff, a resourceful and humorous teacher trainer.  I think I'll enjoy the rest of the course.

All right, I'll write something about Beijing when I feel better.  My body is aching.
