I managed to organise a flight from Zurich to Toronto via Reykjavik (Iceland) arriving in Toronto 22nd July.

Leslie and Reg (along with Jock & Monty their 2 Shelties) met me to drive to Parry Sound on Georgian Bay.

As it was dark on arrival I was unable to see the view of the lake until the morning. What a sight it was when I surfaced the next morning - water and islands as far as the eye could see. The lake is about 20m from the house where I went swimming most days. Leslie and I would sometimes go in for a dip to have our daily bath and wash our hair - serious fun. Leslie is a wonderful cook (so are you Reg) and kept me fed with some wonderful foods from the area. Some of the highlights were Lobster, Pickerel (fresh water fish), corn, ribs, turkey, salmon camenzola (camembert & gorgonzola combined) blueberries we picked from the bush plus fresh herbs and vegies from Leslie's garden.

KAYAKING

I have finally learnt to kayak!!!! Leslie joined me and we had so much fun on the water for about 2 and half hours learning the basics. Forward and back paddling, turning around but with the best part falling out of the canoe to attempt to recover and swin out from underneath the kayak.

Reg and Leslie have a kayak so I was able to go out a couple of times on my own to practice. The peacefulness when you are out there is very special. All you can hear is the water, the wind and the birds. Just to sit there in the Kayak without paddling and let the wind and the water take you is the most amazing feeling.

FLYING

Flying over the islands (30 000) and seeing how many there are was an amazing experience. Taking off and landing on the the water is an amazing experience which I love too. The view to see all the houses on the tiny islands. The weather was in my favour and to see the horizon on a clear day was incredible.

Most days we went for a walk through the forrest; everyday was drinks in the gazebo or on the deck at 4:40/5pm; swimming in the lake or watching the olympics.

We went out on the boat a couple of times to fish, witness a sunset or to just enjoy the scenery. I witness ed a full moon, am amazingingly beautiful sunrise and one amazing sunset on an evening cruise on a local tour boat.

Thankyou Reg and Leslie for a wonderful stay in your special place on this amazing planet of ours.
