MADRID Well not too much to say about Madrid apart from the fact we saw some incredible art museums and amazing architecture.
It is of course another big city with hundreds of people, traffic and noise. I unfortunately had my wallet stolen out of my bag on the metro. We were having such a good time and we let down our guard. Thanks to my darling, gorgeous, efficient, amazing, sister, I had my cards cancelled straight away, after I woke her up at about 5am, and my new cards are on the way to Switzerland. They just want the cash which thankgoodness was only about £200!!! This soured our impression of Madrid and all we wanted to do was get out and hit the road for France - which we did.
We lived on Annette's credit card for the last 10 days and a small amount of cash.
One of the best things about Spain was that I used my Italian when English was not understood so I was very happy about that.
On the way back to France through Spain we were lucky enough to travel through Figueres, the birth place of Dali, which has an aming museum donated by the man himself to the town. Mainly full of his sculptures and a special display of his incredble jewlery. My favourite was the heart made of rubies that was made to actually pump.
