we had got up early in Montevideo to catch the first bus to Punta del Diablo but there was only 1 seat left when we got there so we improvised and took a bus to La Paloma. We had read it was a surf spot with a beautiful coast line. The reality of off season was very prevalent here- it was not quiet, it was dead!
our hostel seemed well equipped for herds of people but it was only Sean and I and another couple girls.
Unfortunately for us the weather was turning- it was gray and cold when we arrived.  We walked the coast line and saw no surfers in the water. we walked the town which was tiny. We watched bad movies on TV. I finally updated my blog (love free internet and hours with nothing to do). And the big highlight of our time in La Paloma was climbing up the lighthouse.  Our last day it rained on us. And i left covered in mosquito bites from a stealth night attack- had a bad bite on my eye which was swelled half shut.
Not really the best stop... i am sure when the surf is up, the sun in shinning and there are people around it is a lovely town but our timing was bad for this one.
