I survived my camping adventure, obviously, even after I heard hyenas not too far in the distance at night. However, waking up in the dark morning wasn't comforting. We took our coffee and tea and returned on our journey through the Serengeti.
The early morning drive wasn't reassuring because we hardly saw any animal. Yet, we saw the same leopard from yesterday and this time with, what looked to be, a Thompson Gazelle that the leopard seem to be enjoying (with its' flesh showing and hanging out of its body of course). We left a few minutes after and found a few female lions scoping the scenery on top of a rock. We drove around until about midday and headed back to our campsite to get some lunch. After lunch the driver and cook packed everything up and were on our way to Ngorongoro.

On our way there we saw the millions of wildebeests and zebras again and also the decaying carcass of a baby wildebeest being eaten by vultures. We also saw two male lions on the side of the road just chillin. I had a feeling they were the same ones that we saw in the Crater.

Our campsite was pristine, beautiful. It was basically perched on a slope that allows you to oversee a great part of the Crater. There was hot running water which was amazing because as it got later the temperature plummeted. I never thought I should have packed a winter coat before I left the US.
Later in the night it became very cold, so cold I could see my breath. Night time was spooky because I occasionally saw reflections coming from little eyes from the light of my flashlight. I believe it was a group of jackals or something. At least I'll be clean if I am eaten or attackedJ. Anyways, usiku mwema ("night good" = good night)
