Another early start and getaway this morning (7.30am). Again we were to have long day on the truck through the hammama (the local name for this area of the Sahara. So on we continued following the lines of pylons marching ever south.

We stopped for a while at Boujdour and enjoyed the morning the morning sun in the central  square. Then on we went hugging the coastline again,. This landscape had me transfixed throughout the morning and the kilometres came and went with little change.

We stopped for lunch at a roadside café 109km north of Dakla. I watched twenty minutes of a Madrid football derby, took some photos and went for a walk to the nearby cliffs. I had already eaten my lunch on the truck; tuna, tomatoes, onion and pepper in my sandwich box. Simple pleasures!

After lunch guess what? We carried on heading south on the N1. More and more of the same had me hypnotised!

Mid afternoon, we stopped at a café which claims to be on the Tropic of Cancer! The last time I was crossing this imaginary line, it was the middle of the night on a ferry to Wadi Halfa An on the Tropic of Cancer, my  camera stopped working., I spent a teary half an hour trying to sort it out and it works for now but with no zoom.

This journey is turning out to be uncomfortable. Two military coups and two broken cameras in two months! On we went south heading through El Argbous and further towards the border where even the pylons have deserted us!

I watched the sun set with my head at ninety degrees to try and picture our latitude and the Earth's rotation. Great sun set
