Wow, what a great day today was! A long night’s sleep proved restful. It is ironic that my first night’s sleep in a bed since Addis Ababa and I crick my neck on the pillow!

I went to breakfast only to discover Paul had been robbed (held up with a knife by 2 lads) around two hours after I returned home. This was a really sharp reminder about being careful and vigilant. I then went futilely to the Flamingo Guesthouse who kelp me waiting for an hour only to then send me to another hotel. Never mind. After checking in and paying up, I set off to find the bus station and my bus to Kendwa beach. On the bus, I met a group of six Spaniards from Mallorca.  It was so good to spend a whole hour speaking Spanish.

The time flew by and before I knew it, we were getting off to the place where we were to walk to the beach. When I walked onto the beach, I spotted Zoe, Claire and Katie. I did not have a clue that the whole group was there and there they all were!

My me time was over… for today! I was determined on getting me my “me time” aback so I said my hellos and disappeared into the beach. Blue sky, blue sea, nearby white sand.  I sat and read my new book lay in the sand and swam over and over again. The hours came and went in this beautiful setting. I felt very happy (still do) and grateful to have been there. I may go back again! We will see! The bus back was longer (slower) and I got back in time to see the sun set on the beach in Stonetown. I then went back to the hotel to relax and enjoy the evening indoors!
