A stunning bay with hippos in its shallows, as well as a large number of Puku and Bush Buck roaming around.  There are signs of Elephant presence but we unfortunately did not see any.

The lodge at Kasaba is dilapidated and only a view locals hang around to fish.  The project to build a huge international airport lies deserted but makes for a good "hangout" for the buck.  At he end of the planned strip, dunes and yet another bay.  Once completed it will be a beautiful airport with a rather unique landing strip stretching from bay to bay. Apparently the funds to complete it had been released on two occasions (to friends or family) and disappeared into thin air.  With the new ruling party they hope to have the funds, once released again, put to proper use.  The airport will inject a much access to this part and would mean that Lodges and village alike would thrive.

Nkamba Bay en route is yet another lovely Lodge that is in the process of being “rebuilt”.  Baboons were the only ones enjoying the tropical setting while we stopped their.

When we could tear ourselves away from this lovely setting we had a whole days drive ahead (400 km) to effectively cover 40 km to Isanga Bay. There are no roads or should I say no bridge to take one to the other side and thus one has to make the long trip to get there.
