Strange how calm and relaxed this makes one feel.
Luckily we saw the camels on our way into Swakop otherwise we would have missed it. Great Fun. Always wanted to do that. Carlos says he would rather ride a Toyota that a Camel. LOL We did not do the seal island boat ride. It was way too cold, long and expensive.
As we decided to stay for 2 days, we did all the necessary maintenance
We enjoyed exploring this garden town in the desert. Swakop is a buzz of activity with a diverse population. It is mind blowing the amount of development taking place here, even more so than in Walvis Bay. Besides the Uranium mine outside of Swakop, and the tourist trade, we are not too sure what funds all of this,
They have more than enough water by the looks of things. That is the life of the town. Very interesting is that they have proper street sweepers keeping the streets free of sand. Brooms must be a good business around here.
We went looking for the horse skeletons of 1915 but the dunes took over and we could not get there. The Old Steam Engine is behind glass in a building so we skipped it.
This town is Carlos' favorite town thus far. My second favorite, although probably a better allrounder.
