Well well. What a surprise. We got to the border post about 08:00 and it was absolute chaos. There were cues of buses, trucks, bakkies and people every where. After spending some time and asking questions, it came to either A) pay US$200/ per passport, B) Standing the cue or C) cross through other border.
We decided for option C. That did mean that we has to go back into Botswana and cross into Zimbabwe from there. The sequence of the trip will have to change as we would enter next to Hwange Park.
In any case, off we went. We would cross over into Bots via Pnt Drift and into Tuli Game Reserve. The border crossing was a breeze. Both sides in not more than 30 min, at a cost of P80 (Car third party)

As we travelled along, we were told by Wena & Ken that Zimbabwe was on school holidays. We also had tried to do bookings from SA and were not very successful. At this stage, the prospects of joining with Mike & Christine started to look very promising.

That evening while in Nata Lodge camp, the decision was made. Zimbabwe some other time with Wena & Ken and for now, Zambia with Mike & Christine.

So,next destination Kazungula. There we can have a look at the Chobe river front and then cross over to Zambia
