Ai Ais with the promise of a hot water spring awaited. We could hardly wait to get there.  Just the thought of lying in a pool of hot spring water for hours on end, was enough to have us on the edge of our seats.  One drives into Ai Ais via a pass. And there, at last, it is.  Quite a casual setting with lots of campers and hikers camping everywhere.  The Spa is open to all to enjoy. For R10 per day one can use the facilities as much as you like.

Over the next two days we soaked up the warmth and moisture.  Enjoying being in one place for a while.  We were able to not only get ourselves but also the fridge's and kitchen properly cleaned.  The washing done and the bed refreshed.

We were surprised to find that it rains "in the desert" so to speak.  The first night I actually woke Carlos up thinking our water pipe burst or something.  Turns out it was raining!  And so it did on day two to the point that we could almost not pack up the tent.

I could quite easily stay here for another week, but the road calls.  We left Ai Ais refreshed after a last quick swim.  Feeling light and ready for the next leg of the trip.
