Today was a somewhat different Sunday than usual as it was actually quite busy.  It started off with Sunday school where they were told the story of the "Prodigal Son" and then they drew a picture of it. It was our last church service today. Mr Victor was absent as he was in Colombo, however his wife took the service, which was inundated with white faces! It was a nice service to finish with (and I'm not just saying that because we sang)! I was took the opportunity to thank the congregation as well as they have all been very accommodating to me and made me feel like part of their church family. Mark and I have arranged to go and see Victor and his family tomorrow night to say goodbye, so it'll be good to have a chat with him before we leave.
After church, it was off to the Peacock hotel for some steak and chips. The more energetic ones had a swim after lunch, while the lazy half relaxed by the pool.
We then went to visit the village where the children live. It wasn't what I expected at all. It has about 2000 houses, varying from ones that look not too bad, to mud huts with 1 tiny room. We were mobbed by the kids, each one wanting to show us their homes! In the end, to leave before it was dark, we all had to go to separate house to get round them all.  There is a huge sand dune that surrounds the place, which is what saved them from being swept away from the Tsunami. The children won't let you climb up it as they shout "Tsunami" - as it saved their lives before, they don't want it to be disturbed.
