There is a mystery in the smile household! Between last night and this morning there has been, what can only be described as a mass moth suicide in Mr Mark's bathroom. While munching on my morning apple, a dazed and confused Mark called me to his bathroom, not a pretty invitation at any time of the day. I don't exaggerate when I say there were literally about 150 pairs of moth wings scattered on his bathroom floor! Two immediate questions were asked 1) where are all their bodies? and 2) why oh why?! We still don't have a notion how they all got in. The only bodies to be found were about 10 floating in the toilet. Also his window was closed and we think his door was closed. If there are any moth experts who can shed light on the matter, please share your wisdom with us! I wanted to hold an all night vigil tonight in the bathroom to see if we can crack it but then remembered I enjoy sleeping too much!
Today in preschool the band were practicing again-a sure way to slow time down in a country where it moves twice as fast as it should.  Again it ends with a mass of children instead of lines of 3. Hopefully they will perfect it. I have learnt a new sinhala phrase, which I have been constantly saying today as it's great. You shrug your shoulders and fling your hands in the air and say "aye yo!". It's like a sign of frustration but I say it because I think it's comical, not for what it actually means!
When the afterschoolers finish their classes, they are usually brought altogether for announcements and sometimes a song or two. I wasn't with at that part today as I was talking to a teacher but Milani had said something about the fact that we were leaving at the end of October.  Anyway as I was oblivious to this, I couldn't understand while suddenly sworms of afterschoolers where grabbing every part of my body and saying "you go home no, stay". It was awful! 5 of them so far have said they are coming with me, but then they realized they would need a plane ticket, although one of them did say "ticket no problem". Maybe he has a secret stash of rupees under his mattress! There better not be this reaction for the next 3weeks, as it would be hard to handle.

We walked down to Food city tonight to stock up for Pastor Victor and family visit tomorrow night. I say stock up, we bought jelly and icecream and drinks! Anyway for some unknown reason, we left the shop with a bag containing banana flavoured rusks and 3 jars of baby food! In my defence, the baby food was amazing! I had strained carrot, parsnip and sweet potato follwed by apple and mango puree. Mark opted for banana custard! So good and surprisingly filling! The rusks however were disappointing, even when Mark thought he'd cracked it but saying we should suck them as it we were teething-still tasted rotten!
Tonight I got a phone call from my bank to say some lovely person in Hong Kong has been on a spending spree with my card, totaling 3000! This is the second time it has happened to me while in Sri Lanka - it happened in August with someone in Oz living a fine life on my money! If you are by chance the person who is spending all my money, please stop!! Thanks!
