After yesterday's goings on, there were only 11 kids at preschool. I've never seen so little before, and neither have the teachers. The small number meant that they were all treated to a DVD in the house. It have action songs which they enjoyed singing along to and also had the story of "The 3 bears". It was something different for them and it kept their attention for a good hour.
With the first lot of afternoon children, I did emotions (happy, sad, crying etc) and also he/she. With the second class (the youngest ones), I taught them animals.
There was still some buzz around with the afterschoolers in relation to the tsunami alerts. They kept asking me "tsunami you run?" so it's obviously still playing on their minds? Also, within the last 48 hours, 2 adults have asked me where I went during the Boxing Day Tsunami. They were totally amazed when I said that if didn't hit England.
We also look like we have a dose of chicken pox. After spending one night at a different house with no mosquito nets or plug in things to deter them, we are covered everywhere in bites-and I mean everywhere! They did start to calm down today, but I've been constantly walking around chanting to myself "don't scratch. Don't scratch"! Mosquitoes are definitely one thing I will wave goodbye to with a smile and my face and no tears in my eyes!

We bumped into Pastor Victor on the way down to Food City tonight. Turns out he was on his way to visit us so he said he'd call in tomorrow instead. That means we have a task for tomorrow-to find out how to make a cup of Sri Lankan tea! It's not a case of putting a teabag in a teapot and adding water, they use tea leaves, powdered milk and about half a cup of sugar! If the secret of the perfect cup of tea can't be cracked, he will have to be introduced to my Peppermint tea. which comes conveniently in a bag!
