Yesterday was the last full day of the children's camp. After breakfast there was a puppet show that was enjoyed by all and then it was group time. I was with the same group as yesterday. I tried to learn their memory verse, but me and languages just don't mix. I remember one word! Their craftwork was a dove. Mark and I then did games with them for the hour before lunch to build up their appetite. They love the parachute so we used that and duck duck goose, which seems to be a favourite in any county. Also did "Making Melodies" so again there were 40 Sri Lankan kids, singing a song in a totally idiotic way - hilarious! After lunch and their second group time, they had a quiz of everything they had learnt over the 2days. The winning team got a box of fudge between them.

The day was meant to end with a campfire, but there had been some rain so the wood was too damp. Instead everyone sat in a circle and was given a candle. In their groups, the children had prepared songs and dramas so they presented them to everyone. As well as that, some of the leaders did a doctor and patient sketcher. Everyone was laughing so it must have been very funny - the acting was definitely dramatic! Again you don't have to understand their language to be entertained!

Today's church service was used to mark the end of the children's camp. All the children took part - they sung, did a drama and also displayed all the craftwork that they did. It was different than the usual service and was very good. It was also a great atmosphere having the churched filled with 40 children.

Victor arrived back from UK on Friday. Yesterday we had a very long chat with him over lunch about the experiences he had while he was there. His eyes where definitely opened to the cultural and moral differences. When I asked about the weather, he said there wasn't a day without rain-sounds about right! Regarding the food, he said everywhere he went, people always gave him pepper!  When I asked to get a photo of him this morning, we were laughing as he is so tiny and not just because I'm tall! He said he was like Zacchaeus so I said he would have to climb and tree and he agreed. So I'm now determined to get a picture of him up a tree before I leave! Can't be that hard!!
