Today we had a teacher's meeting with Naomi. She is an American lady who we met at the pot luck dinner. She's has trained as a child psychologist and came along today to find out the problems and issues the teachers had with the children and then advise them how to work through them. It was very informative. She advised us to use star charts to promote good behaviour and also to allow the children to express and talk about their feelings more. For example sentence completion - I am happy when, I am sad when, when I'm happy I, when I'm angry I etc. So the teachers are going to discuss it and see what would suit them best to implement and if they need to arrange another meeting with Naomi. Ronali is down today and tomorrow so she was able to translate incase you were wondering!! I know we are good at getting our points across but not that good!
The meeting started at 330 so there was only a short afterschool class today. Tomorrow at preschool, from what I gather, they are making paper mache coconuts. Should be interesting - might even try it myself!
