The wheels on the bus
Entry 31 of 109 | show all | print this entry |
Today I started to teach the preschoolers "The wheels on the bus". It's amazing how quickly the younger ones pick things up - I've been here 6weeks and can just about count to 5 and say about 10 words which are mostly food! If you compare that with them, in the same time period they have learnt 3songs and a game!
Thursday is the mad afterschool class, although today they weren't as mad as previous weeks, but numbers were down. They did find it funny when I tried to swot a hornet with a rolled up newspaper. They mustn't do such things over here!! I've learnt the pace that each class goes it. With today's class, learning 3 shapes was good going, but with tomorrow's class, they would probably be able to learn about 10. The classes are split by abilities, rather than ages which is good, but you find they usually tend to be around the same age. Tonight is the 2nd Pot Luck dinner for the "foreigners"! We have made a mango dessert that you just add a few ingredients to. However, it does look quite pathetic and I would feel embarrassed taking it so I put yoghurt on top and some raisons. Looks better but don't how it'll taste! I'm sure you can't really go wrong with it.
