When I think of Wednesday's, it now makes me think of a birthday party! Again in the afterschool club, I was in charge of the younger class on their "creative day" which is basically playing party games. I started the afternoon with about 15, but by 4pm, everyone of them seemed to be out with me, including teachers! Fabric painting mustn't have been as exciting. Started with "if you're happy and you know it", did a few rounds of "hokey pokey", then good old "musical statues" and ended with my made up game "pass the ball".. It's as simple as you pass the ball round the circle, when the music stops, if you are holding the ball, then you're out! Again music is a universal language so that's why everything is focused around it! This kids range from 7-early teens. Anywhere else in the world, they'd only be happy playing on their playstation, but here they seem far happier running in and out of the hokey pokey! I think Wednesday has to be my favourite day!
We were a teacher down today. Millani was off sick. She is one of the two full time teachers so there was just me and Kandyima at preschool. That was 2 of us for 28 kids! It's much more laid back here, in terms of ratio's of adults to children, as you can tell!
Tonight's entertainment will be doing my washing - fun filled for all!
