Friday has been and gone-it's scary how quickly this week has gone!

At preschool their main activity was drawing a house with flowers, a coconut tree and a person. artistic abilities range but there was one girl in particular who i think did an amazing drawing for a 5yr old (see photo). far better than what i could have done. i also read a book to them - good old "spot". just as long as the pictures are colourful, then they are enticed. theymust have enjoyed it as they wanted to hear it again.

i had to take an afterschool class today. i wasn't supposed to start until monday but 5mins before, Nunalli asked me to take her class as she had to see someone. there were only 6 in the class so it was fine. we sang head and shoulders, knees and toes. the only thing was, they kept saying "mouse" instead of "mouth" - still it sounded good. they then drew a face and we labelled the eyes, nose, mouth and ears. it went well and you soon learn how to communicate without using words! this time i didn't have a whiteboard but will hopefully have 1 from next week - it will be a lifesaver!

as the older ones were leaving today, a boy came over and pulled what i thought was a barbie out of his bag.  but then he pressed it's hand or stomach and an amercian voice said "he scattered the stars into the sky with his bear hands" (or something along those lines). so yeah, turns out it wasn't a barbie but a plastic  Jesus doll! it was very funny!

roderick is coming down tonight for the weekend which will be good. he has to do some "building stuff" with gordon but hopefully that won't take too long and we'll be able to head out tomorrow. we did howver hear a few claps of thunder earlier, lets hope it doesn't come to anything. the electricity has been going on and off for the past few hrs, just for a min at a time. we had a powercut last saturday but it was during the day...we have our torches at the ready just incase!
