Where I stayed
The whole time we were out on Kanawa island we were dreaming of the pizza back at Labuan Bajo. The island food was not the worst that we've had, but after a few days we were nearly drooling at the thought of a real pizza.
MadeInItaly was heaven. We stopped there before we hit the island, and were eager to return!! The Inferno pizza hit all the right spots. Hot, spicy, cheesy... perfection!!! Paired with a large Bintang Beer and we were both smiling wide.
It's amazing that we found such good pizza in the middle of this little port town. Not surprising, the owner is Italian. They ship a lot of the ingredients over from Italy and use a real wood stove. Yum, yum, yum!!
Needless to say, we ate here both days and they hardly had to ask our order :)
Labuan Bajo is a cute town and I could get comfortable there. We rode the bemos around (little open-aired vans) and it cost $1 for them to take us anywhere.
Too bad this town will quickly grow out of it's britches!! It's only 1.5 hour flight from Bali and will soon be discovered by mainstream travelers. Sad, but inevitable.
