Where I stayed
The drive all day was BORING!. Prairie (again), tumbleweeds, some huge farms of wheat and stuff, and NO TREES! I always think of the state of Washington in terms of lumber, but the East side of the state is in the lee of the mountains, and is almost a desert. If you look closely at the picture, you can see a "Dust Devil", not to be confused with the vacuum cleaner! It is a sunny-day tornado-like thing that sucks dust upward from the desert or freshly-plowed wheatfield like a tornado
Sandy researched restaurants in Spokane on the computer on the way in, so we were prepared, but guess what was alnost next door to the LaQuinta. You guessed it, Hooters. She dragged me there kicking and screaming again. No salmon tonight!
Tomorrow we run for the border. Cranbrook British Columbia.
