So I'm not in Uraguay as I had planned. I had actually changed my plans to go to the beach in Argentina, but had my day pack with my bus ticket, camera, guide book, journal, etc... stolen from my hostel in Buenos Aires. I should also mention that 2 days before I rented a bike and had it stolen while I went to check on bus tickets. For a while I was super paranoid, but that soon left after I left the shady hostel I was staying at. My last day in Buenos Aires I moved to the V and H hostel which was luxurious in comparison for only 6 pesos more. That evening I drank too much wine and woke up the next day with a fever on top of a massive hangover.

I arrived in Mendoza, the wine capital of Argentina, on Wednesday the 2nd but dint really leave my room until friday. I did however built an intimate relationship with the toilet and which continues to this day. Friday night they had amazing live music at the bar in the hostel. Saturday I went to a Tango show which was superb to watch from only a few feet away. Last night I met Tom from England who has similar spanish skills to me. Non existent that is, but I'm working on it. He taught me the importance of mime. It turned out to be quite practical, mime that is, as we pointed out a electrical fire to a local restaurant, mostly just using a lot of waving and pointing and then we found out the best place to go for a beer in town. For this one we mimed some dancing along with asking "Donde es Cervesa" which translates to where is the beer. It worked! Today my goal is to relax and figure out my next destination. I'm thinking Bariloche to the south to do some hiking.

Yesterday I took a bus tour up to the Andes to the Chile border. Amazing mountain landscape. So many colours in the mountains.

I booked my ticket for Bariloche this morning. I leave at 8pm. Untill then Im going to head out to watch a soccer match at the English pub.
