After a couple of days of doing little things - cleaning windows and putting up a set of swings we're finally given a proper new project. An HIV positive woman is recently divorced and as such has nothing to her name except a couple of kids to bring up. Her brother has given her a small piece of land with a shack on it to live in and so we're going to build her a proper house.
This means starting from scratch, digging up mud from behind the shack to make bricks for the new house. We make 40 in the first day and from some rough calculations we're going to need about 900 to build the house. Ulp.
This evening at the bar we're told that the Swazi elders have started they're pilgrimage (on foot) to Mozambique to collect ocean water for a ritual that takes place in December. According to the ritual it'll rain until they get back and on cue a huge thunderstorm erupts knocking out all the power in the bar. Weird...
