We are in Paris, and qbout to leave.  I'll leave that q in there to show you how ,uch difficulty I am having right now with the keyboqrd.  We don't have îctures available right now because I forgot to bring the connecting cables with us on this particular excursion, but rest assured we are looking good.

The baby was great on the plane, and embarassed all the other babies with her joviality.  Upon arriving in Paris, the hotel we had booked accused us of not showing up the previous two days and so they had cancelled our reservation and charged us for the previous night.  Rachel defended her booking skills, and we eventually proved the victor with online confirmation.  However, since our room was already taken for the night, we had to stay in another hotel at almost double the cost.  The concierge tried to soften the blow by giving us free breakfast the rest of the stay, and so we've enjoyed that.

We've enjoyed Paris quite a lot, and the baby loves all the people that smile at her and smell like smoke.  Right now we are adjusting to the time difference, the French eating patterns, and the baby's schedule.  But by far, the most difficult thing is finding a good place to change the baby.  Yesterday, at Versailles, Rachel had to explain to 3 sets of security guards why she was taking a napsack into the Chateux.  Needless to say, if you know Rachel, the 3rd security guard was yelled at.

I should also note that I recieved my first injury, as I sliced my thumb open on my little blue pen knife while trying to clean the blade off.  I bled for a few hours, and then enjoyed the palace where Louis the 16th and Marie-Antoinette indulged themselves until receiving much more severe cuts.

Actually, the low point of the day came when I met a Californian racehorse owner, and spent a quarter of an hour talking about the Canadian dollar.  I was thinking of cutting open my other thumb to get out of that conversation.

I'll end the message here, as it looks like the rain is subsiding and I want to enjoy a little more of the city before we leave tomorrow.  I'm not going to proofread this, because I am paying by the minute, so you'll have to endure the sloppy prose. Sorry.  Hopefully we will have some pictures up in the next couple of days.
