On our way to Christchurch, we drove through Cromwell and made a stop at Lake Pukaki to take some photos of Mt. Cook, unfortunately it was the only mountain that was cloud covered!!! On we went to Lake Tekapo to see a small church overlooking a beautiful beach and surrounded by mountains. We arrived early evening in Christchurch and I had a quick look around Cathedral square before it got too dark. The cathedral is being restored however, services are still being held. There was an art sculpture exhibit in the square as well. Didn't have much opportunity to see the city as it was a bit of a rush, but I would be returning in a few days.
