It is unexpectedly sunny in London today! Shannon and Becky were just complaining that it's always grey and cloudy, so I'm convinced I brought the sunshine with me ;) This morning was a bit rough though, and here's why...
Yesterday, after a mediocre breakfast at the hostel, I headed out to London Bridge tube station. I had heard about this amazing food market, and Annie had also mentioned wanting to take me there. It was still early, so I took advantage and walked around the Tower Bridge until I met up with Annie. The hearsay was right: Borough Market may be the best place I've ever been to...and I visited it in style thanks to Annie's expertise! We started by getting a glass of champagne, followed by oysters, and had the greatest grilled cheese sandwich in the world to finish it up. We then got some food for dinner and headed back to Annie's apartment, which is surprisingly close to my hostel and which has an amazing view of nearby gardens
After a few hours of eating and drinking wine, James finally convinced us to go to a house party all the way across town. It was a little quiet, but I mingled with some English people which was nice! By the time our cab driver had taken us the round-about way home due to our "American accents" and I finally made it back to my hostel, it was about 5 am!! Needless to say, I havent been out that late in a while, and that's the reason I slept in this morning :) It worked out in the end, because it allowed me to avoid the morning shower traffic that comes from the 9 people in my dorm wanting the bathroom at roughly the same time.
So far, as expected, London is by far surpassing my daily budget. But alas, today, I'm planning to visit the London tourist sites a bit more, and I think I might take a day-trip to Windsor Castle tomorrow. On Tuesday, I'll be heading to Brighton, and then...I'm not sure! I was thinking about taking the trek down to Land's End, but many English people I met yesterday advised me not to waste my time...so I'm going to rethink my plan!
Enjoy the pics! :)

Brighton
Salut cousine !
Breakfast
Lucky you, champagne followed by oysters, my favorite!! Yummy. I do not have a hard time to believe you brought the sunshine since your heart is full of it girl. Glad you're having fun and I am sure getting the urge to travel. Love the pics, keep them coming. Miss you lots.
Sorry about the sun...
Haha..it's funny (for me) to hear that it's been raining in Montreal - but I truly am sorry. I'm leaving London tomorrow morning, so I'll send the sun back then! ;)
Oui - Mili, j'ai lu plusieurs Jane Austen et j'ai bien hate de voir ces paysages!
And yes, oysters and champagne are great - too bad I can't eat that way all the time! haha...I also had the 'world's best brownie', although I'm confident I could make a better one ;)
Brownies
You Bet Ya girl, you make the best brownies in the world. Love you, Mom
Sunshine
C'est correct pour le soleil; tu peux le garder avec toi. On va attendre que tu reviennes...
