Thanks for the messages :) And yes, mom/Jack, Ill try to look in the right direction when crossing traffic, but my instincts always make me look the opposite way!
After a good night's sleep, I'm not quite as tired this morning, which is nice. I napped for part of the afternoon yesterday, and then headed out to meet with some friends: Shannon, Liam and Becky, friends from Ottawa, and Charlie, a new friend who's just moved to London. I splurged on what is likely to be my only real-restaurant outing in a while, and had delicious pasta at this restaurant called Pizza Express (it's a lot fancier than it sounds!). We chatted and drank wine for a few hours (although I had to switch to coffee at a certain point to stay awake), but we lost some steam on the way to getting drinks, so we called it an "early" night.
I've met most of the people in my 9-person dorm room, but havent really been hanging out with many backpackers since I already have my own friends and plans in this city. I anticipate meeting new people and getting my "backpacking" experience really started with my next stop, which I think will be Brighton.
