Oh my god! It's starting to sink in that I'm actually leaving today - I can't believe this day has finally come.
After putting if off for long enough, I finally tried to fit into my backpack all the things I had laid out. Not bad, I must admit. I had to reconsider a few items (like bugspray and a sleep sheet) and remove certain others (a few pairs of socks and t-shirts), but in the end, I managed to make it work. It took sitting on my backpack to actually zip it up, but I think with some practice, it'll become easier! I also had to pack Hershey chocolate syrup and peanut butter - Canadian requests from my friends in London - but I'll get getting rid of those shortly, so it'll make for a little more breathing room! :)
I'm flying directly into Heathrow, which I understand to be London's largest and most central airport, and have already reserved my bed at the Astor Hyde Park hostel. I'll be officially reviewing it for hostelz.com, a "job" I came across while reading hostel reviews that will pay me a whopping $10 CAD per reviewed hostel - not bad! I'll take all the extra money I can get...
So with my heavy backpack (about 30 pounds...which is way under the 44 pound-limit), my daypack and a purse, I'll be heading to the Montreal airport shortly. I reserved a seat with a little extra leg-room in British Airways' Boeing 777, so the flight should be quite comfortable. Hopefully I can get some sleep, despite the nerves and anticipation, so that I won't be too jet-lagged upon my arrival.
Wish me luck! More to come once I've arrived in London :)

Drove her to the airport.
Saw her to the custom's gate.
