Here I am, approximately 35 hours before my departure, about to see if all the things I've planned on needing will fit in my backpack. Although it seems like I've been dreaming of this trip for ages, it feels like I just moved back to Montreal yesterday. Despite the almost-heart-attack I got from Zoom airlines' bankruptcy, everything has now come together and I'm ready to embark on this European adventure!
With not much more than clothes, bandaids and my guidebook (well, photocopies of it!), I'm about to set out on a three-month trek across parts of Europe. I'm starting it all in London where I'll meet up with some friends, and intend on visiting the rest of the United Kingdom, followed by Greece, Croatia, Austria, and ending my trip in Prague to visit another friend. We'll see how closely I actually end up following this itinerary.
My last backpacking trip, already dating back to 4 years ago, acts as a rough guide to this one, although I anticipate many differences, not the least of which are my age (a whole quarter-century..will I be like a grandma compared to the high school kids?) and the fact that I'm travelling off-season (hopefully I won't be the only one!).
I still have lots to get done before my flight, so I'll end my first entry here. Stay tuned...

Fish and Chips in Brighton
Glad to know you had a great time with your friends. Jack ate at Pizza Express many times and loved it, did you try their cappuccino? When in Brighton you must try the fish and chips, IT IS A MUST.
If they do have the BIG BEN bus tour Jack says it is worth it because you see a lot of London. Check it out if you have the time. Send some pics soon, we love you and take good care of yourself.
Cheerio.
