Martin and I  were planning to chill at Hangklip with a possible visit to Namibia ... but generally not planning to do too much of anything other than sit on Koeka's stoop and watch the sea.  Actually we chilled for about 24hrs and then found ourselves being asked to make a rock video for Koeka's cousin (currently living with her) .  The track is called "I'll be waiting", you can hear a sample on her site:  www.tonirowland.com

Suddenly there were whole 'looks' to discuss and agree upon, sets, props, themes, motifs to create ... really it was great fun and with low to no budget a great challenge too.  Some of the highlights involved Henry's vintage Czech motorbike and sidecar (Henry is the owner of The Hangklip Hotel, and general good egg ... he was very generous with his toys and time).  The sidecar was running perfectly until it came to the shoot -  we ended up towing it whilst shooting from the open boot. What with the dust and the occasional diesel cloud as it started, it was a hugely 'atmospheric' episode.  As was the transformation of 'Plunkies', the local bar at the hotel ... a parked motorbike, lots of keelam rugs and candles and an audience for the weekly kareokee who were keen to feature.

I'm hoping Martin and Koeka have managed to edit the footage into some sort of sense, thereby freeing Koeka's time to focus on 'the making of' video ... a truely entertaining piece of behind-the-scenes production-reality-tv if ever i saw any.

In between shoots, we managed to explore the shore and relax on the stoop.  Huge thanks to all who made me so welcome, and were such fun to be around.  Hope the pickled fish supply is diminishing caroline ?
