Well Sorry we have skipped a couple of days, but the last two days have been full on non-stop fun. Well actually its been non-stop walking ! But thats how it is in these huge parks. We spent about 12 hours on the first day in 'Hollywood Studios' world and about 14 Hours !!! ( yes 14 hours) the very next day in 'Epcot' world. I'll blog about those two days after I get this days entry done, if I am still awake ! They were two big days for us, and we are all very tired. Our original plan was to do all 4 days in a row, but thats become impractical, so we had a day off today, and visited 'Blizzard park' instead. This was one the two water playgrounds we are visiting.
Blizzard Beach is all done in a winter theme, with fake ice everywhere. We slept in till about 8am and went down for breakfast an hour later which was pushing charmaynes patience. Tomorrow we are having an early start, as we need to be at the biggest and best park, 'Magic Kingdom' at 8am when it opens.
Anyway, so we rock up at blizzard beach and just go for it. We steam in determined to make up for lost time this morning , keen to get into some water rides. First thing we see is the gift shop, and char remembers that Lauren needs a pair of bathers, as her old pair is worn out. I say, well I dont think Disney is going to miss out selling some tourists a pair of disney bathers at his theme park, so in we go. 1 hour later, we escape with a pair of Aussie Billabong bathers lol. Finally at 11:30 we actually get into the park and begin deciding which ride to go on first. I want to get all the kids onto the 2nd biggest water slide they have, but char mentions that it might not be the best idea to petrify both kids straight away and ruin the rest of the day lol. I agree, and so we head off to ride the Snow Stormer, which is a half tube and we ride balloon donuts down. They have three tubes in a row, and Lauren and Sean raced each other and Char and myself faced off. The kids came a draw, and my increased american bulk payed off, as I was able to get up more downhill speed. Ive definetly put some weight back on, but i'm still less than before i started dieting back home. ( for now lol) We have done soo much walking around the last 3 weeks though, I would have lost more weight overall if it wasnt for all the large servings we get everywhere
Anyyyyyyyway, we head back up top try the ride next door, which was a shortish speed race, with electronic timers and everything. We hit the line right near the top and think, well this isnt so bad, nearly there, but we hit a queue of people in a smallish area. We the line for this ride moves very slowley, as it has to reset the timer each race, and you have a starting gate as well. So after spending about 30 minutes waiting we get to race down. This took me 6.8 seconds and the ride was over. Not an good investment of time I think. Then we find a ride that seems to have fewer people. We eagerly skip up the 1 million steps to the top, winding up the side of half the mountain, to find a great ride. We get to go straight away as there is no line !! You can ride a double tube down a long half pipe, or take a wsingle tube, down a fast cornering full pipe in the DARK ! We used the double tube first as we had lugged up the double tube from the bottom, then we all rode the one down in darkness. This was really fun, and did this ride about 3 times in a row. The reason is wasnt as popular is because it has a long walk up, and you have to lug your own tube all the way up. All the rest of the rides either have a chair lift up the main mountain, and then deliver the matts and tubes up a conveyor belt straight to you or have shorter walks up
The kids found a playground dedicated to 12's and under and we spent a few hours here, as there were several activites they loved, including an over water flying fox, an floating iceberg bridge to be crossed and several smaller tube rides, plus a fake beach. I took the oppourtunity to go for the extreme ride, the Summit Plummet, which is a 12 story tall, water slide drop at 50-60 miles an hour, thats about 80-100 Klms ! nearly straight down ! I am not ashamed to say I screamed all the way down lol. Then we had lunch, and we all went on some more rides. I managed to talk Sean into going on the Slush Gusher, a 90 foot tall slide with 2 humps. This wasnt as steep as the Plummet, and Sean loved it. Easily the biggest ride hes been on to date and Im so pround of him, that he didnt try and back out, or worry about it whie we were waiting in line on the top.
After going on a few more rides, we all go on a nice slow ride around the whole perimeter of the park, on a slow river. We relaxed in donut tubes, and floated around the park for about 45 minutes to get back to where we started from. This was a nice slow time and nice and relaxing. Sean turned it into a ride, by falling off his tube countless times on the way around. hard to do considering there were no waves and it was quite a gentle current. We spoend the last part of the day, swimming at the Family beach, complete with 1 foot waves
Oh yeah, nearly forgot, in each city I've visited Ive givin a homeless person 5 or 10 dollars. In San francisco, I kept giving away all my change as it weighed down my pockets. In Orlando, I gave it to a trash can. You see I was holding some rubbish, and $11 in notes in the same hand while buying some dinner, and was holding alot of stuff in both elbows and my other hand after our trip today
We all then returned to our Room, for an early night, ready for a big day tomorrow ! Magic Kingdom !!!!!!!!!!!!! Promise to blog about it tomorrow night, no matter how tired we all are.
PS Lou Lou, We took some pics of Lauren and Laura for you, and Sean and Mickey.
