We stopped in Boise on our way to Portland, when I was interviewing at OHSU for PA school.  The only reason I wanted to stop there was to see the famous smurf turf of the Boise State Broncos.  One of my favorite college football programs.  We stopped for about two hours.  At that time they had only won the Fiesta Bowl over Oklahoma which was probably the greatest college football game ever played.  The blue turf totally takes you by suprise it is much brighter than what you expect.  I believe they are replacing the entire field for the 2010 season to try and dull it down a little bit for the cameras.  Boise is a pretty small town and I think to have a dominant football program in a town that size makes it more amazing.  The drive to Boise once you cross the Utah border pretty much looks exactly like that dry flat picture in this album.  It gets a little better after Boise going to Portland.  I would want to return to Boise to watch a football game.  I definitely will be doing that in the next two years.
