Today was the best day we've had so far, let me explain why.  We went to Edinburgh the capital city of Scotland.  It was quite a long drive from Warrington, England.  But really no different from the drive from Green Bay to home :)  I have to say that Edinburgh has been the neatest city I've seen so far, it is so quaint but yet it still has the big city vibe about it.  We were driving into the city looking for the castle, Edinburgh Castle, and all of a sudden we came around a sky scraper and boom there it was in the distance on this really large cliff.  Check out the pictures!  We walked up to the castle toured it for about 2:30 hours, which was awesome, got a little bored towards the end, but we got the see the Crown jewels of Scotland, which was cool.  They looked a little old and the pearls and diamonds were not so bright anymore, haha i wonder why!?  When we were leaving the Castle there was a group of tourist that were standing outside and one of the women, a stupid one, crossed the rope/chain around the royal guard to get a picture and all of a sudden the guard started to move and screamed "STEP AWAY FROM THE QUEENS GUARD!!!!!"  The women didn't move and started to laugh and the guard literally took his gun with a bayonet on the end and pushed the women away from him.  It was crazy scary at first but now it's a funny story!  Cause the women is an idiot there was a guard that wasn't on duty next to the entrance who was there for pictures (which we took one with).
Anyway, next we walked down the "Royal Mile" which is basically the oldest part of Edinburgh, all the buildings are the original, it is quite a sight!  While we were walking down Royal Mile we continually saw couples that were dressed up.  The women were wearing nice dresses and fancy hats and the men were wearing kilts and nice jackets (see pictures).  We were like where are these people going, so we decided to follow them.  Turned out they were headed to the Holyrood Palace the place were the Queen of England stays when she visits Scotland.  Lisa asked the police guard what was going on and he said the Queen was having a garden party.  Lisa got really excited that we were in the same town as the Queen.  Which we thought was cool and what were the chances?!  We stood outside the gates to the palace trying to get a good look at the party and the Queen for a few minutes and then we decided that we could get a better view from the huge hill next to the palace so we climb this HUGE hill!  It was quite the day!

More later, love you all!

We are headed to Wales tomorrow to go hiking the country side :) It's going to be fun!  The weather has been crappy!  But then again it is England, and we saw a billboard that read "3 million people in Britain are on depression meds, Are you happy?" I can see how that is possible the weather is just sooo gloomy here, we miss the Wisconsin sun (or better yet the Caribbean sun!). Welcome to Scotland Sign
