It was so beautiful and quiet sitting out on the recliners in the cool morning. I took everybody's camera cards and downloaded and organized all the pictures on the laptop. Heard parrots flying around in the valley and finally saw a conure near us. A hummingbird finally came to eat at the lantana plant by the porch but I could not catch it on camera. It would eat and fly off and keep coming back. I am determined to catch the elusive hummy. A very large brown and white bird, probably a hawk of some kind landed on the wall but was gone before I could get good look.
Deb says there are Howler monkeys but I have not heard them yet
Well everyone is stirring so I guess we will be leaving soon.
We went up to Poas National Park to see the Poas Volcanos.
Our first sight was a Kudamondi. Someone gave him a plate of arroz con pollo. He was real tame, he stood there for half an hour posing for pictures.
We had to walk up a steep walkway to the top of the volcano and I barely made it. The cloud cover pretty much hid the view. You had to be real fast when it cleared to get a picture.
So now I think, wow it will be all downhill, but no, you have to climb more stairs to get to the second volcano. This one had a lake in the crater that fills up from the rain.
We had just finished taking pictures when it started to rain on us and we headed for the forest
We really wanted to go to Le Paz Waterfalls but the rain didn’t stop. They had a large butterfly and hummingbird garden that I would have liked to have gone to. We are learning that you have to leave really early because the storm comes in around 1 pm. We are also learning that no matter how hungry you are, sightsee first, then go to the restaurant when it rains.
We got back to the villa early and watched dvds.
